Fiscal Impact Studies
What will a major residential, commercial or industrial development or plant closing mean for our town? How many jobs will be lost or gained? What new tax revenues will be generated, or lost? What will be the increased or decreased demand for state and local services? What will be the overall fiscal impact on the town, the city, the state?
These are the sorts of questions PDI has answered for municipalities and state agencies across the state. We have analyzed the impact of projects ranging from small housing subdivisions to multi-million dollar mixed use developments. We have studied the likely effects of the closing of trash burning facility in a downtown area and the effects of opening a new highway between two remote rural communities. We were a key partner in preparing Maine's response to the proposed military base closings.
